BRADFORD, Pa. — The McKean County District Attorney has announced that she is seeking the death penalty against a Bradford man who is accused of killing and sexually assaulting his infant child.

On Monday, McKean County DA Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer announced that the District Attorney's Office will be seeking the death penalty against Tyler Prescott, who is accused of killing and raping his 2-year-old son in August of 2025.

The DA's Office says that if Prescott is convicted of homicide by first degree murder, they will be seeking the death penalty. Under Pennsylvania law, the only other sentence available for the conviction would be life in prison.
