Steven Pearl and the rest of Auburn basketball had insisted much of the same through five games: Tahaad Pettiford 's shots may not be falling. That doesn't mean he's not Tahaad Pettiford.

There was some truth to that. Pettiford had played distributor in that span, leading the Tigers in assists. But heading into their latest contest, the sophomore point guard was shooting just 28.8% from the field. He put chatter of his shooting struggles to rest by game's end, matching a career high with 24 points in an 84-73 win against Oregon on Monday, Nov. 24, at the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas.
