The Department of Government Efficiency, which was highly touted as a concept on the presidential campaign trail and operated chaotically during the first few months of President Donald Trump's administration, has been quietly disbanded. Turns out, the agency devoted to reducing alleged waste, fraud and abuse in government spending was anything but efficient.

Reuters first broke the news Sunday that DOGE, which was supposed to operate through July 2026, "doesn't exist" anymore, quoting Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor. The Reuters report states that some of the agency's functions now fall under Kupor's purview and that several high-ranking officials within DOGE are working for the Trump administration in other departments.
