There had been some small rumors that the New York Yankees could move on from players to lower their payroll.
Whether it's allowing free agents to walk, not signing others in free agency, or other avenues, it wouldn't be the craziest idea for New York to go that way.
As long as the Yankees put together a competent roster that has a chance to win a World Series, saving a few million dollars shouldn't be the end of the world.
