The Nittany Lions have had a hugely disappointing campaign, one that began with Penn State considered a championship contender. Nothing has gone according to plan, with starting quarterback Drew Allar suffering a season-ending injury early on and coach James Franklin being fired in October.
Rutgers has struggled for most of its season, with its lackluster and underperforming defense the biggest culprit. The Scarlet Knights have a dangerous offense, but their defense has precluded them from stringing wins together.
