Trump's White House meeting with new New York mayor Zohran Mamdani appeared to go very well, and nobody was more surprised than Jimmy Kimmel.
In the monologue above the host recaps the meeting between the two former adversaries, during which Trump continually complemented Mamdani and spoke about what a great job he thinks he'll do in New York.
"What a turn of events! It was like he was giving a wedding toast to his new son-in-law," says Kimmel. "It's almost as if – and I know this sounds crazy – it's almost as if Trump doesn't have any real political convictions at all. He just says whatever, whenever."
Elsewhere, Seth Meyers had similar thoughts.
