The first part in its “Watershed Wednesdays” series, the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is inviting residents out to assist in the search for waterfowl.
The walk “will focus on the presence of waterfowl as an important indicator of ecosystem health,” said park interpreter Erika Derman. “With the variety of waterfowl that can be found on the South Saskatchewan River, we will be walking the Harlow Lower Berm River Trail to scope out some waterfowl.”
Participants will discuss the behaviour and different types of waterfowl that can be seen at this time of year. As with many programs associated with birds, those interested are asked to bring their own binoculars, and since winter has arrived are reminded to dress for the weather.
This program is made possible in part by the Land Stewardsh
