Even though John Mateer doesn’t have Heisman voters favoring him, it’s pretty obvious the Little Elm native has taken a barely bowl-eligible Oklahoma Sooners squad to the No. 8 program in the country, beating four ranked teams, including an upset over No. 4 Alabama in his first year as an SEC QB. With one game left on the schedule, Mateer looked back on his SEC experience and admitted the one thing that’s been haunting him all season: inconsistent offense.
