26-year-old Ibrahim grew up in a dysfunctional home in Indonesia, where fights between his mom and stepdad happened nearly every day.

“One time, they were hitting each other and even held knives.

My stepdad hit my mom, and I saw it all. I really hated being home.”

Ibrahim noted.

Ibrahim said his stepdad hit him, too.

“I remember one day my stepdad slapped me in front of his coworkers.

He thought I made a mistake. 10:02 I was only 12. In that moment, I felt worthless. “

Ibrahim sought to escape the unrest at home, but he fell in with the wrong crowd.

“I started using drugs and drinking with friends who were just like me. “

“I also did something that now, I know was very wrong. I had sex with my high school girlfriend.”
