After sitting out last week’s game against Mercer to maintain his redshirt eligibility, Auburn football quarterback Ashton Daniels will be under center for the Tigers this week against Alabama.
Despite not being in last week’s gameplan, interim head coach Durkin talked about Daniels’ preparation over the last two weeks.
“Ashton was very active in practice on both the offensive field and the defensive field. He came over and played quarterback against our defense a lot of the times,” Durkin said Monday afternoon. “I wanted him to keep the speed of the game going, and he helped our defense. With [Deuce Knight] and [Jackson Arnold] very involved in the game plan, he approached it the right way. He’ll be just fine.”
