Two winter systems are coming together across the northern U.S. this week, bringing the potential for heavy snow and strong winds across the Great Lakes and Upper Midwest. The Upper Peninsula could see significant snowfall as the low-pressure system strengthens and lake-effect snow returns for a week straight.

Winter storm warnings and watches are already in effect for much of the Upper Peninsula. The storm will move across the region tonight into Wednesday, Nov. 26, beginning with a mix of rain and snow before changing over to all snow, with some areas possibly receiving more than a foot.
