Police have arrested a person on suspicion of shoplifting in Coventry . Officers detained the individual on Saturday (November 22).
Teams from Coventry Police had been patrolling the city centre that evening. Chief Inspector Godhania was alerted to reports of shoplifting on Fairfax Street.
Acting on radio intelligence, CI Godhania located and detained the suspect on Hales Street. Officers then took the individual in for questioning.
Police were also joined by Coventry City Council on Saturday. Together, they visited several city centre venues to ensure licensing rules were being followed.
Checks included verifying that door staff were wearing their SIA badges and reviewing operating hours to confirm compliance with regulations. Police said it helps them identify peak leaving time
