TIVERTON — There have been too few days like this Thanksgiving for Tiverton’s football team in 2025.
Too much time spent in the shadows. Too many Friday nights and Saturday afternoons missed, the bands quieted, the crowds thinned. Fewer than a dozen upperclassmen suited up to represent the Tigers in their distinct corner of the state.
The plan was for Tiverton to face Rogers — just the third varsity opponent for the program this fall in a Thanksgiving Day on campus. But after several Rogers students were arrested recently for allegedly abusing a special-needs classmate, Rogers ended its football season. Tiverton was once again looking for a holiday dance partner. Then on Monday night, the school posted this note on social media:
