A mum and her autistic son has been battling to secure a council home for over six-and-a-half years but she has not been offered a single property.
Judith Mackay and her son Callum, 24, are currently residing in a privately rented house in Blaydon, Gateshead. The pair are living in dire conditions as the rotting floor of the property has led to in becoming infested by mice and slugs. The 53-year-old described the three-bedroom house as damp, mouldy and in dire need of repair.
