It's going to be a busy Thanksgiving getaway for those traveling this holiday, with AAA forecasting more than 20% of Delawareans expected to travel and the state warning there will be checkpoints searching for drunken drivers.
The Delaware Office of Highway Safety, the Delaware State Police and local law enforcement will be conducting a driving under the influence checkpoint on Nov. 26 in New Castle County.
Delaware officials recorded 99 impaired driving crashes during the Thanksgiving holiday period (the Wednesday before through Sunday) between 2020 and 2024.
