BEAVERTON, MI – Beaverton never asked Landon Love to do the work of 10 men.

But with only 15 players on the team, the fourth-year varsity senior understood he needed to carry more than the usual share of the load.

“We were all counting on him, there was a lot on his shoulders,” Beaverton coach Aaron Seiser said. “For him to come through week in and week out is pretty impressive. It wasn’t the season we wanted, but he battled and the kids battled with him.”

In his fourth varsity season, Love was the glue that held the Beavers together and the spark that lifted them to within a whisker of the playoffs. Now the senior quarterback caps his career as the Golden Helmet Player of the Year as the top high school football player in the MLive/Bay City Times area in Class C.
