The Tiverton football team will host a Thanksgiving game against the Barrington High School junior varsity on Wednesday at 6 p.m. It was good news for the team after learning that their traditional Thanksgiving Day matchup against Rogers High School had been canceled following an ugly incident in the Rogers locker room last week. A 16-year-old Rogers football player was arrested by Newport police Friday after a widely circulated video showed him whipping, mocking and dehumanizing a special needs student while other players looked on and laughed.
