The Worcester City Council will meet Tuesday night to discuss the tax rates for Fiscal Year 2026.

Last year, the council set a residential tax rate of $13.19 per $1,000 of assessed value and a commercial, industrial and personal property tax rate of $28.61 per $1,000.

This year, the lowest possible residential tax rate is $13.32 and the highest possible commercial tax rate is be $29.16, according to a communication from Chief Financial Officer Timothy J. McGourthy sent to City Manager Eric D. Batista.

If the council does vote for the lowest possible tax rates, the residential and commercial rates would be higher than they were last fiscal year.
