Brownwood Police Chief James Fuller fields questions from the City Council Tuesday morning

During Tuesday morning’s meeting, the Brownwood City Council approved a resolution to apply for a grant from the Office of the Governor for bullet-resistant components for Law Enforcement vehicles.

On Oct. 15, the Governor’s office made funding available across the state for “BulletResistant Components for Law Enforcement vehicles”. Authorized by H.B. 2217 and passed during the 89th Regular Session, this funding provides for bullet resistant windshields as well as bullet resistant front windows and front doors.

A grant proposal has been submitted that will outfit 15 of the Department’s marked patrol vehicles with a total expense estimated at approximately $156,000.
