“I’ve still never seen aurora from below, but up here, it’s a frequent show. Last week’s was especially good,” she wrote on Instagram alongside the video

A NASA astronaut has captured footage of the northern lights, also known as aurora borealis, over the United States.

Zena Cardman filmed the lights, which are caused by solar particles meeting the atmosphere of the Earth, on Nov. 17, while on the International Space Station, according to the BBC .

In the clip, green, purpl
