This may be the year to do it. About 85% of Christmas trees sold in the U.S. are artificial with most made in China. But tariffs are expected to raise of cost of fake trees 10-20%, Fortune reported .

In contrast, a survey of real Christmas tree growers earlier this year found 84% who said they did not anticipate raising wholesale prices. Some said they might lower prices, according to the Christmas Tree Board.
