PINE RIVER TWP. — A vehicle struck a 56-year-old man in a wheelchair on M-46 north of Alma in Gratiot County on Nov. 24.

The man using the wheelchair and the 68-year-old man driving the vehicle were both eastbound on M-46 when the collision occurred at about 3:24 p.m., Gratiot County Sheriff Tom Clark said in a statement .

Both men were from St. Louis.

The man using the wheelchair was pronounced dead at the scene, Clark said. Neither the vehicle driver or his passenger had any injuries, he added.

St. Louis police and firefighters, Alma police, and Michigan state troopers assisted the Gratiot County Sheriff's Office at the crash.
