Palestinian Jihad militants find dead body of hostage among the rubble and vow to hand it over as shaky ceasefire holds - despite rising death toll from repeated Israeli bombing on the Strip
Hamas has pledged it will return the body of an Israeli hostage as part of the fragile ceasefire that has held despite repeated and deadly Israeli strikes on Gaza. It comes amid escalating Palestinian casualties and mutual accusations of violations of the ceasefire agreement threatening to shatter relatively low-levels of violence.
Palestinian Islamic Jihad announced it found the body earlier this week in Nuseirat, a refugee camp in central Gaza. The body will be handed to the International Committee of the Red Cross on Tuesday afternoon, Hamas said on Telegram.
