AUSTIN, Texas — New details have emerged in the case of a former Austin ISD teacher facing charges connected to child sexual abuse, according to court documents obtained by KVUE.

Jonathan Marks, a former special education teacher for Austin ISD, is charged with possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony, and an improper relationship between educator and student, a second-degree felony.

District officials said Marks previously taught at Bedichek and Gorzycki middle schools. He worked for the district from 2020 through fall 2024 and taught at Bedichek Middle School until 2023, according to the school’s principal.
