A Manitoba non-profit hoping to preserve the history of computers and video games is moving ahead with plans to open the province’s first dedicated retro technology museum.

The Manitoba Computer & Gaming Museum, launched this year, is working toward securing a permanent home by 2027. Until then, the organization will host pop-up exhibits, collect donations and build partnerships across the province.

Fabio Hofnik, chair of the museum’s board and co-founder of the initiative, says the idea grew after he moved to Canada and began searching for others interested in the early days of computing and gaming.
