The Indiana General Assembly will meet in December to talk about redistricting after all, despite initial resistance from the state Senate.
The House chamber, whose leader had instructed members to keep their December calendars open, made plans to meet on Dec. 1, multiple Statehouse sources told IndyStar. Minutes after an announcement from House Speaker Todd Huston confirmed the news, Senate President Pro Tempore Rodric Bray announced the Senate would convene a week later, on Dec. 8, to vote on whatever redistricting proposal the House sends them.
The news keeps President Donald Trump's hopes of redistricting alive in Indiana, but a new congressional map would be challenging to pass. Without the Senate's approval, the redrawn map can't be
