NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - In an effort to deter crime over the Thanksgiving holiday, the Metro Nashville Police Department announced plans to bolster security around shopping areas for this weekend.

MNPD reported that officers will be keeping a close eye on Tanger Outlets Nashville, the Mall at Green Hills, the Opry Mills Mall and the Nashville West and One Bellevue shopping centers. Extra patrols will begin on Friday and go through the busy Black Friday weekend.
