Rural communities across Manitoba will soon see major upgrades to their water and wastewater systems, thanks to a joint $76.9-million investment from the federal and provincial governments.
Premier Wab Kinew says the funding is about helping smaller centres grow without burdening residents.

“If we want to build more homes and keep life affordable, communities need the basic infrastructure to support that growth,” Kinew said in a release. “Better water and wastewater systems help small towns welcome new families and attract businesses.”
Municipal and Northern Relations Minister Glen Simard said the province worked directly with rural municipalities to identify their highest priorities.
