Authorities in San Francisco launched an investigation Monday after human remains were found at Ocean Beach.

United States Park Police detectives and San Francisco police responded at about 3:52 p.m. Monday to the beach to investigate a report of a suspicious death, park police said.

The remains have not been identified, and the circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation, according to park police.
