MARTINSBURG – For years, Black Friday meant crowds and long lines, curled around the sides of big box stores across the country as shoppers prepared for a sprint to get the best deals the second the doors opened.
But across the country, those crowds have thinned and lines have shortened. The parking lots are calmer. The once-iconic doorbuster rush has given way to a quieter, looser and more digital version of the same day.
