Akron police officer Davon Fields — the officer who killed 15-year-old Jazmir Tucker one year ago — was a "ticking time bomb" created by a culture of violence and racial discrimination inside the Akron Police Department, a new lawsuit alleges.

Filed on Nov. 24 in the Northern District of Ohio federal court, the lawsuit seeks monetary damages and police reform in the police shooting death of Jazmir, who was fatally shot on Thanksgiving 2024.
