Follow Joseph Woll’s example.
As the Maple Leafs try to pull themselves out of a downward spiral that has put them in last place in the Eastern Conference , they would be wise to take their goalie’s lead.
When Woll was taken out of the game in the second period against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday , he gave coach Craig Berube a piece of his mind.
“His battle level, he was so pissed off at me for pulling him the other night,” Berube said. “I like that. He wanted to be in there and fight, and that’s good.”
There hasn’t been nearly as much similar spirit in the Leafs in recent weeks in winning just once in eight games. A dose of the kind of emotion Woll had in getting pulled definitely wouldn’t hurt.
Woll got the hook at the Bell Centre because Berube didn’t want his No. 1 netm
