Joplin is in a good financial position with low debt, adequate cash balances and stable tax revenues, according to a report given by a residents committee during a City Council meeting Nov. 17.
In analyzing the city's cash availability, the report states that the general fund balance of the city budget was $30.3 million as of Oct. 31, 2024. Almost a year later, on Sept. 25, that balance had climbed to $32.3 million. ×
