One of Missouri basketball’s top-performing transfer portal additions of the young season is likely to miss the bulk of the remainder of Mizzou’s nonconference.

Jayden Stone, a former high-scoring mid-major guard who came to Mizzou from West Virginia, sustained an injury to his non-shooting hand during a practice Monday, the team announced, and is likely to miss the next 3-4 weeks.

Even on the lower end of the timetable, that means Stone is likely to miss at least six games. If he misses three weeks, he will miss games against Notre Dame and Kansas, as well as four home nonconference matchups.

On a four-week recovery timeline, he may be able to return for Mizzou’s Braggin’ Rights game against Illinois on Dec. 22.
