DILLSBORO, Ind. —

A man has died as a result of a crash in Ohio County, Indiana Monday night, according to deputies.

Officials say emergency services responded to the 5100 block of Milton Bear Branch Road around 6:30 p.m. Monday to a two vehicle crash. Deputies say the collision involved a passenger vehicle and a combine used for harvesting. Advertisement

Deputies say the passenger car hit the front tire of the combine, as both vehicles were traveling in opposite directions.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, Vernon Smith of Cincinnati, was transported to UC Medical Center. Smith died as a result of his injuries.

The driver of the combine, officials say, was not injured.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing, deputies say.
