Omarion Hampton is on his way back.
Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh said Tuesday that the team has opened Hampton's 21-day practice window, meaning the rookie running back will return to the practice field.
"Good to get him back on the field and start ramping up," Harbaugh said.
He later added: "Just going to really ramp up, see how the week goes. Good to get him back out there."Hampton can now potentially return for Sunday's home game against the Las Vegas Raiders , but his status will likely depend on how he fares this week at practice.
The Chargers rookie running back has been on Injured Reserve since suffering an ankle injury in Week 5 against the Commanders.
He had been working off to the side in recent weeks, with Harbaugh noting earlier this month that his possible retur
