U.S. Sen. Elissa Slotkin, D-Holly, and several other Democratic lawmakers who appeared in a social media video last week urging U.S. troops to defy “illegal orders” now say they’ve been contacted by the FBI.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) request to schedule interviews could signal a possible inquiry.
Slotkin, among the lawmakers featured in the video, said in a statement posted on X Tuesday afternoon that the Federal Bureau of Investigation “appeared to open an inquiry into me in response to a video President Trump did not like.”
A former CIA intelligence analyst who served three tours in Iraq alongside the military, Slotkin said in her statement that “the President directing the FBI to target us is exactly why we made this video in the first place.”
