One of the most frustrating signals of something wrong is always the price of a gallon of milk. I ran into our local grocery store last night to buy two gallons for $3. I remember back when that price was only $1.50.
It’s not my imagination, either. According to this resource , monthly grocery costs have risen 32% since 2019.
Given the complexities of food subsidies and how easily prices are depressed through the intervention of our government, I’m increasingly wondering how we got to this place. How is it the middle class just expects that this situation is normal? How did we get to a point where our banking class continually points out the danger to the middle class around midterms and presidential election years, but can’t seem to take responsibility for its own role in shrinking
