On Sunday, Nov. 23, a Barrington resident notified police about a conversation taking place on Snapchat involving the return of a Barrington High School teacher to class.
Police said it appeared that some students were planning a peaceful protest of the teacher’s return. The students were planning a walk-out on Dec. 1, during second period, police said. The teacher in question has been cleared to return to class on Dec. 1.
Police contacted some of the students who were involved in the Snapchat conversation. Some said the conversation was a joke, police said. Police have notified school officials and the SRO (school resource officer) at BHS.
