NORFOLK, Va. — Travelers heading through Norfolk International Airport in the coming days may want to keep their phones handy. The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles launched its new mobile ID program earlier this month, a digital form of identification that could make your trip through airport security lines more convenient.
The program allows Virginians to store a secure version of their driver’s license or state ID directly on their smartphones.
“We’re in this digital world. We’re using our phones every day, and now, it’s convenient because your ID is on there, too,” said Camila Barco, the public relations liaison for the Virginia DMV.
