U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia says she is not planning to run for president, days after she announced her plan to resign from Congress amid a falling out with President Trump.
“I’m not running for President and never said I wanted to and have only laughed about it when anyone would mention it,” Greene said in a post on X.
On Friday, Greene made the stunning announcement that she would depart Congress after weeks of clashing with Trump.
Trump responded in an interview with NBC News about the possibility of Greene one day resuming her political career at some point.
“It’s not going to be easy for her” to revive her career in politics," Trump said, although he added: “I’d love to see that.”
Trump said that Greene, in the meantime, “she’s got to take a little rest.”
