Lyon County property tax statements for the 2025 tax year are expected to arrive in mailboxes “any day” according to County Treasurer Sharon Gaede.

Gaede described the process of getting the tax statements out as lengthy and complicated, requiring state certification, processing through a vendor, and additional review to ensure total accuracy.

The Treasurer’s Office has chosen a new vendor based in Waterloo, Iowa, to handle the tax statements this year, a decision that Gaede says has sped up the process and saved the county $2,000.

“I’m all about saving taxpayers money,” said Gaede.

Gaede says that she has not heard of any delays from the new vendor.
