KIM Hellberg has now witnessed first hand why Kieran Scott – the man sat to his left in the Riverside directors’ box on Tuesday night – told of the need to “sprinkle a bit of magic” on the Middlesbrough attack.
Hellberg watched on as Boro fought back from two goals down to draw level with Coventry City and for much of the second half Frank Lampard would have undoubtedly gratefully snatched a point and legged it.
No wonder he celebrated after Coventry’s quick-fire late double to win 4-2 as though his side had won the Championship title. There’s every chance that will be the case in May.
Boro should take heart from the manner in which they had the better of the league leaders for long stages.
