MEXIA, Texas — The home of 4-year-old Mexia resident Kaisa was transformed into a pink winter wonderland as dozens of community volunteers came together to give her the Christmas of her dreams.

Everything was pink — her favorite color — from the Christmas tree and ornaments to the glittery pink lemonade the children made together.

"I am overjoyed," said Kaisa's mom, NyJanae Lee. "Seeing her happy the way she is, being around people that does what she loves to do that she can't do anymore, it just makes my heart melt."

Kaisa's journey began in April when her parents took her to the doctor for what they thought was a simple neck issue.

"We were told that she had a little crook in her neck because kids sleep bad," Lee said. "But we took her to Groesbeck and they did a CAT scan and noticed
