Bert Armstrong says she shops for groceries where she can find particular items for specific occasions.
It’s why she pulled into the parking lot of the Trinity West Shopping Center on Tuesday.
“I was coming to pick up some greens for Thanksgiving,” the retired 68-year-old said. “I really was shocked when I pulled up and saw that the store was closed.”
The Cash Saver grocery store at 2223 Singleton Boulevard has signs up telling customers the location is permanently closed.
An employee working security at the front of the store said the pharmacy inside the store will remain open until it can find a new location.
“It leaves a big hole here,” Armstrong said.
When the store opened in December 2019, it brought the return of fresh food options to a location that had struggled with vacancy
