The anniversary of one of Western North Carolina's most enduring cold cases came in 2025. The name Zebb Quinn continues to gain attention in the state and across the nation.

Zebb Wayne Quinn, an 18-year-old Asheville resident described by his mother as hard-working, easygoing and trusting, disappeared on Jan. 2, 2000. More than two decades passed with no answers for his family, and in 2022, the case closed without a definitive answer with the plea deal of Robert Jason Owens.
