Pulaski County officials are taking steps to protect nearly 16 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails at Pulaski County Park, following growing concerns about motorized vehicles damaging the paths and creating safety hazards for visitors.

The 804-acre trail system, located in the western part of the county, offers routes of varying difficulty and sweeping views of Lake Cumberland. But in recent years, park users say electric bikes, golf carts, side-by-sides and even horses have increasingly appeared on the trails—despite long-standing signs prohibiting motorized traffic and equine use.
