CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department on Tuesday released body-worn camera video of an encounter from earlier this year with the man later accused of stabbing a woman to death on a Charlotte light rail.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police on Tuesday, Nov. 25, released body-worn camera video of an interaction between Decarlos Brown Jr. and officers from January when they responded to a welfare check.

Police said on Sunday, Jan. 19, around 9:20 p.m., officers did a welfare check at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center off Hawthorne Lane in southeast Charlotte. When they arrived, they located Brown, who had made the 911 call.
