GOLD CANYON, Ariz. — The US 60 is closed in both directions near Gold Canyon on Tuesday due to a death investigation, officials said.

The closure is being reported was between Mountain View Road and Superstition Mountain Drive due to a law enforcement situation.

Sky12 footage shows a large police presence at the scene.

Mesa police said its homicide unit will be on scene to conduct a death investigation.

ADOT said the eastbound lanes reopened around 3:30 p.m., then ADOT issued another notice shortly after indicating the US 60 was again closed in both directions.
