Winds subside this evening leading to cool and quite conditions through Thanksgiving; Weather Alert Day Saturday as first winter storm approaches

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Good evening. It was quite the windy day today with widespread winds gusting around 45 to 60 mph at times. A High Wind Warning remains in effect until 6:00 pm CST before winds decrease through the evening hours. Mostly clear skies are expected tonight as temperatures drop into the mid to upper teens across western Nebraska with a forecast low of 15 degrees in North Platte. We stay a bit warmer to the east with lows in the low to mid 20’s with a low around 22 degrees in the Tri-Cities, and 25 degrees in Lincoln. Temperatures tomorrow stay on the cooler side with highs in the mid to upper 30’s across northern Nebraska, low 40’s across central Nebraska, and mid 40’s along the Nebraska/Kansas border.
